Volunteer with DBF 2017

Dublin Book Festival returns this November with its 11th edition and we are looking for literary lovers, book enthusiasts, aspiring scribes, kindle addicts and pen pushers to become one of our many festival book-worm volunteers helping to bring this latest instalment of all things books and publishing set in some of the most iconic buildings and locations about the city.

As the winter nights draw on, shut out the cold with the inviting warmth of a programme filled with old and new voices in conversations, from Ireland’s most celebrated and witty critic Eileen Battersby to debut writers Lisa Harding and Eoin Macken. There is something for everyone with events spotlighting George Bernard Shaw on the anniversary of his passing, not to mention our children’s and schools programmes returning to the enchanted Winter Garden at Smock Alley and various Dublin City Council Libraries about the city.

For the more adventurous and time travellers there are tours of all sorts from the much-loved walking tours with Pat Liddy to historical tours following the footsteps of Michael Collins.

Volunteering puts you at the forefront of the Festival Experience and presents a wonderful opportunity to see how an Arts Festival of this scale is managed and organised.  But not only this, volunteering becomes a community that lives beyond the festival, evolving into both social and professional circles in The Arts.

Volunteers can be found at venues and events helping to be more than just a smiling face in the crowd – from ushering and stewarding, crowd control and the first point of contact for the public, volunteers guide them from the street to their seats. A dynamic team spirit creates an unforgettable experience for our audience and attendees – our volunteers are invaluable asset giving up their free time to make sure others enjoy theirs.
