In advance of the much anticipated publication of Dublin Moving East: How the City Took Over the Sea (Wordwell Books), author Michael Branagan will provide an illustrated taster of his extensive research of Dublin City into the bay.

In the thousand years of Dublin history, 1708–1844 was a key period of expansion when the city more than doubled in size. Michael will talkabout his research aided by some of the great illustrations he has collected over the years, many of them previously unseen.

Michael Branagan is a historian and author with a BA in History and English, and an MA in History. He lives in Dublin. Extensive research work for this title has been facilitated through the support of Dublin Port Authority.
