Women book 80 per cent of the tickets to arts events, they tend to act as “social catalysts” and are more likely than men to make purchases more than three months in advance. Paul Fadden, Managing Director of Ticketsolve, whose research lead to these findings, will analyse and unpack these and other facts and figures at a free event for literature and arts producers, event organisers and creative directors. Attendees will gain a better understanding of who buys tickets, when, how and why. It will highlight the methods of reading and analysing previous sales data, helping you to shape your next PR campaign and sell more tickets. This event follows on from the Literature Producers Forum held in May 2019, and welcomes the wider arts sector to attend, converse and increase our collective understanding of arts audience behaviour.

Round-Table Discussion to Follow
Following the Ticketsolve presentation, Words Ireland and the Dublin Book Festival invites attendees for a round-table conversation on how the literature sector and writers can connect with the wider arts sector, including venues and festivals. The discussion will focus on successful literary programming already happening in venues across Ireland, and the possibility of more programming, including writing workshops and literary tours reaching regional arts centres and festivals. This is aimed at both literary programmers as well as venues and arts programmers alike. It will be held in Smock Alley, with tea and coffee provided.
